All the Pennsylvania state and federal parks regulate by law the areas in which camping is allowed. This is done to protect the local environment from inexperienced campers.

If you are like most campers you may prefer using one the developed camp site because they usually come with bathrooms, utilities and fire rings. Most of these type camping areas allow you to pull your car right up to the site. For the more rugged campers out there Pennsylvania also offers many back country camping sites. You will need to hike into these spots and fires are not always allowed so make sure you check with the local ranger station.

RV camping is also done throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Not only can you park your RV at many of the camping grounding in PA but many of the four season resort areas also offer RV overnight plug areas. If you are thinking about hitting the open road with your RV make sure you call ahead of time to reserve your parking spot.
