Governor Ed Rendell

Rendell is the democratic governor of the State of Pennsylvania.
A native New Yorker, Rendell attended the University of Pennsylvania
and received a bachelor of arts. He then went on to earn a law degree
from Villanova. During, Ed Rendell's pursuit of higher education,
the state of his pursuits began to take form.
After being elected to the position of Philadelphia's District
Attorney, Rendell then went on to run and successfully win the position
of Philadelphia's Mayor in 1981. The New York Times has deemed his
mayoral term as "the most stunning turnaround in recent urban
history."
Following his very successful time as mayor, Rendell decided to
make the move to run for Pennsylvania's Governor. Winning the 2002
election despite not having the democratic nomination, Ed Rendell
proved he had a powerful following. Under Rendell's leadership,
the State of Pennsylvania's economy is robust. Consequently, Ed
Rendell won the 2006 gubernatorial election against Lynn Swann former
player of the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 60% to 40% lead.
Rumors have circulated about Rendell getting the vice presidential
nod, but Rendell outright denies any intention. The Rendell's are
close to both Hillary and Bill Clinton. Rendell was a very vocal
supporter of Hillary in her run for the 2008 presidential race.
Bill Clinton appointed Marjorie Rendell, wife of Ed Rendell, to
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Rendell has endorsed
Barack Obama after his win of the democratic bid, and has continued
to speak out on Obama's behalf.
