Pennsylvania Water Parks

Water parks are one of the best ways to spend a hot summer afternoon. They come in many different types. Some have big rides. While others have little rides. Some have many kiddie attractions. While others have giant slides and wave pools. All are special in there own way.

The first water park is Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. This indoor water park is a whooping 78,000 square feet. The park offers a water coaster, tube slides, body slides, a wave pool, and many kiddie attractions such as a dump bucket. Don' be afard to bring the whole family the Great Wolf waterpark is geared to all age groups.

The next water park is Sandcastle. This outdoor water park is operated by Kennywood amusement park. The park is host to 14 water slides, the largest hot tub in the world, kiddie pools, and a lazy river. Geared for all ages.

Next is Shawnee Place. This water park is located at the base of a ski resort. The water park features a log flume, and lots of kids rides. Geared for younger kids.

Another park is Soak Zone. Soak Zone is owned and run buy Idlewild Theme Park. The water park is geared toward younger children (10 or younger) and is equipped with many slides and in water playgrounds.

Next is Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park. This park has tube slides, a lazy river, 2 giant bowl slides, body slides, whirlpool spas, a play structure with tipping bucket, and in 2009 it will receive a wave pool. Geared for all ages.

Next is Water World (Erie). This park is owned and run by Waldameer Park. Attractions include 11 slides, 4 kiddie slides, a lazy river, a heated pool, and 3 kiddie pools. Geared mostly for younger kids but older kids would still have fun.

Next is Wildwater Kingdom. The park is owned and run buy Dorney Park. The parks rides include a family raft ride, a kids play area, some kids slides, a lazy river, speed slides, tube slides, and a wave pool. Geared for all ages.

Last is Water World (Phoenix). This small park has pools, slides, a rope swing and volleyball courts. The park is mainly for area residents. It is not worth driving over 60 miles to get to. Geared for all ages.

Overall Pennsylvania has tons of water parks equipped with rides for all ages. Hopefully this will help you next time you're planning a vacation or just a day trip to one of these amazing fun filled water parks.
