  1. The best way to find vacation rentals is to contact the local property management company affiliated with the resort area you plan on staying in. Most of the property management companies will have links on the resorts homepage they will also be listed with the local visitors bureau in that area.
  2. It is also a good idea to visit one of the national VRBO websites. These have a few rental at each resort in the United States.
  3. If you can find one it is always better to go with a local VRBO site. One that only caters to a single resort area. These sites will have an abundant amount of vacation rentals.
  4. Visit the local chamber of commerce for the town you plan on visiting. Each local chamber will have a vacation rentals or property management section.
  5. Online Forums are also a great place to find information on Vacation homes for rent.
  6. My favorite place to find vacation homes for rent is craigslist. Craigslist has many sections dedicated to renting out vacation homes.
  7. Newspaper websites are also a good resource for finding vacation homes for rent. Most newspapers have a classified section were home owners place ads for their rental units.
  8. Google or other search engines. Many vacation home owners have there own website promoting their rental. These can be hard to find but when you do the details are worth it.
  9. Ask your friends and family to recommend a great rental. If you know of anyone who owns or has stayed in a vacation home it is a good idea to ask them for the reference.
